GOBARdhan initiative
GOBARdhan is an acronym for Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (wealth). It is a national mission under the Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen to convert cattle dung into value-added products such as biogas, organic manure, and electricity.
The GOBARdhan initiative was launched in April 2018 by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. The objective of the initiative is to promote the use of cattle dung as a source of renewable energy and organic manure.
