Last moments of IAS interview
After the personality test is over, when the board allows you to leave, remember the point where you started. How did you enter the room? Make sure that your body language reflects positivity when leaving the interview. You have to give the impression that this interview was much more than just a question and answer session and that you have got the experience of learning something new and that Honorable Members you have learned a lot from the experience.
You must thank them with a sweet smile and a look of positivity on your face. When leaving your chair, ensure that the chair pulls out as little as possible. As you’re headed for the door, never look back to gauge the board members’ reaction.
It is enough to just say thank you madam before leaving the room. In my opinion, it is better not to be too formal so avoid saying things like “Good day” or “It was a good learning experience for me” etc. Remember, you have to “show, not say” this.
