Types of IAS Interview
Types of Interview: There can be many types of interviews. Which depends on the number and quality of questions asked, the temperament of the board members and the conduct of the candidate during the interview. Following are the main types of interviews.
1.Fact based interview
The questions asked in this type of interview are mainly based on facts. The purpose of this interview is to test your knowledge and memory.
2.Interview based on concept and analysis.
In this type of interview, questions are not usually asked directly and based on facts, but your opinion is taken on various issues. You have to analyze various policies and programs and present critical comments on them. There is neither a right nor a wrong answer to such questions.
3.Stressful Interview
A board member may act indifferently and/or aggressively toward you. There may be constant counter attacks on your answers and what is more, they may even scold you or abuse you. Right from the beginning you will not be given a chance to recover and you will be bombarded with questions.
4.Stress-free interview
It is a very comfortable type of interview in which a feeling of peace of mind arises. Questions are simple, direct and easy. The board members do not oppose you in any way. To keep you relaxed, members may also use words like child or son.
5.Bizarre Interview
It is also possible that one of the board members may not even see eye to eye with you. It is possible
That any member of the board should be seen busy with mobile phone or any other thing all the time. They will be involved in some activity or the other. Their reactions cannot be predicted.
Generally, the personality test conducted by the UPSC Commission is a combination of all these interviews, although the ratio of its components may change according to different board members.
