Why was a Dalit colony set on fire in Bihar?
There is a Krishna colony in Bihar’s Nawada district where most of the Dalit community resides. Yesterday evening, news came from Krishna colony that 40-50 houses of the colony have been set on fire. There is no news of anyone’s death so far. Local sources have revealed that the Dalit community is living on disputed land due to which local miscreants carried out this act.
After investigation late at night, officials said that a total of 21 families’ houses have been set on fire. If any other family comes forward, this number may increase further. No death has been reported so far. At the same time, the matter of firing is not being confirmed yet. The reason is this.
. The victim families allege that the miscreants suddenly attacked on Wednesday evening. Their houses were set on fire along with beating. It is alleged that firing was also done. Zonal Officer Vikesh Kumar said that after receiving information about the fire, the fire brigade has been sent to the plot on which there is a dispute. 10 people have been arrested in this case.
At the same time, Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha founder Jitan Ram Manjhi held the Yadav community responsible for this incident and claimed that 12 of the people arrested in this case are from the Yadav community. While talking to journalists on Thursday, Manjhi accused the people of the Yadav community of forcibly occupying the land of Dalits in the state and claimed that this community carried out this incident by instigating the people of the Paswan community living at that place
