Manoj Sinha

Manoj Sinha is an Indian politician who has served as the 2nd and current Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since 2020. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and has held various positions in the government of Uttar Pradesh.

Sinha was born in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, in 1959. He studied civil engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. After graduating, he worked as a civil engineer in the Indian Railways.

Sinha entered politics in 1996, when he was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament, from the Ghazipur constituency. He was re-elected to the Lok Sabha in 1999 and 2014.

In 2014, Sinha was appointed as the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications and Minister of State for Railways in the Government of India. He held these positions until 2016.

In 2020, Sinha was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. He is the first person from Uttar Pradesh to hold this position.

As Lieutenant Governor, Sinha has focused on improving the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir and promoting economic development in the region. He has also worked to improve the relationship between Jammu and Kashmir and the rest of India.

Sinha is a controversial figure. He has been accused of being a hardliner and of not doing enough to address the concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. However, he is also seen as a capable administrator and a strong leader.
